Chase and LivingSocial Team up for New Rewards Card

Chase Card Services and LivingSocial have announced the launched of the their first co-branded card, the LivingSocial Rewards Visa(R) Card. The newly minted partnership will provide LivingSocial users with additional value on purchases made everywhere and special cardholder-only benefits and offers.

LivingSocial offers consumers who are social-buying enthusiasts with locally targeted deals daily and the ability to earn rewards for their purchases.

Dan Dougherty, director, Chase Card Services says, For local merchants, LivingSocial has helped redefine how businesses connect with consumers to promote their products and services and increase sales.

Members of the new JPMorgan Chase credit card have the opportunity to earn points at an accelerated rate.

A customer might use a LivingSocial deal to spend $20 for a $40 voucher at a nearby retailer.

Global Payment Data Breach Has Card Issuers on High Alert

Global Payment, the worlds third-largest processor of electronic transfers is undergoing a deep investigation after a breach that may have put tens of thousands of credit card holders at risk. Although MasterCard and Visas systems have not been compromised, they have alerted the nations banks of the issue.

There is no word on the exact number of cards that may be at risk, but cardholders have been advised to contact their credit card issuers if suspicious activity has been reported. As of right now, all major credit card brands are on alert.

Global Payment identified the issue in early March and immediately took action with experts of information technology forensics and also contacted federal law enforcement.
